Molokai Hawii
Molokai is the most
unspoiled and authentically old-style Hawaiian of the six islands you can
visit in Hawaii, even if you spell it Hawii.
The people of Molokai are very friendly and glad to meet you. But they
don't want to let their island get developed with a lot of hotels and
resorts and tourist activities like the other Hawaiian islands.
Molokai has just one small luxury hotel, the Molokai Ranch Lodge.
It has a couple older hotels and condos. There are only a few
restaurants on Molokai, and none outside the Molokai Ranch Lodge are as
upscale as the better restaurants on the other islands.
Molokai is famous for having the old leprosy colony in Kaluapapa, whether
Father Damien cared for the victims of Hansen's Disease in the last half of
the nineteenth century.

My advice? If you have a couple weeks for your Hawaiian vacation,
or if you have already seen the other islands on previous trips to Hawaii,
spend three days on Molokai to see its scenery and meet its people.
Then spend the rest of your trip on one or two of the other islands discussed on the other pages of this website:
